Welcome Back! For
parents/guardians who have not met me, my name is Mrs. Kraft and I work with K5
and 1st grade English Language Learners. If your child qualified for English as a
Second Language (ESL) at enrollment and are assigned to kindergarten or first
grade at Wickersham, I will be helping him or her daily with learning
English. Sometimes I will work with your
child in their classroom and sometimes your child will work in my classroom. I will make sure I try to meet you during the
first week of school.
Please check out my home page for school and class
activities during the year. I will also
update the parent section weekly to inform parents what we are doing during ESL
time. At home you can have your child visit

games. I will also suggest free
educational iphone and ipad apps you can download on my book and apps page.

Ways to Aspire Your Child
The role of a parent or guardian in a child's life is irreplaceable. There is no other relationship that can amount to this one. Even if a parent or guardian is unable to spend large amounts of time with their child, they can still be the most influential person in their child's life. A parent or guardian's attitude towards education can aspire their child to go above and beyond.
- Talk with your child about their and your day
- Find out what they are interested in
- Make learning experiences out of daily routines
- Make time to read with your child (In English or your Home Language)
- Allow them to show you or teach you something they learned
