ESL Fun Over the Years

Class Rules

I have five simple rules during English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction time.  They are called:
The Give Me Five Rules

1. Eyes on the teacher
2. Raise a head when you want to speak
3. Keep your body still
4. Listen with your ears
5. Keep a quiet mouth when others are talking

Students earn coins daily during ESL time when they can follow the rules.  I only give one warning when a student does not follow one of the "Give Me Five" rules.  After one warning they begin to lose money.  Each Friday a student is able to cash their coins for a prize out of my treasure chest if they have 15 coins saved.  I rarely have discipline problems but if I do, I will stay with a child after school and wait for his or her parent or guardian to pick them up so we can talk about their behavior that day.
